Go for It: Write Your GSA Schedule Proposal Yourself

You don't need us.

You can write you GSA Schedule proposal on your own, and it's free. All GSA Schedules are readily available for download at FedBizOps.

All you have to do is:

1. Determine which Schedule contract best matches what you offer.
Selecting the right Schedule for your company is crucial. If GSA rejects your proposal (because you have made the wrong selection) and you have to start over ... Let's just say that re-writing and re-submitting a new proposal is no fun.

2. Download the solicitation you must complete and submit to GSA.  Have a ream a paper ready, this is one lengthy document. Most solicitations exceed 150 pages in length.

3. Read and make sure you understand the solicitation. The terms and conditions the solicitation contains are the rules for contract performance and contract administration that you will have to follow if you receive a GSA Schedule contract.

4. Be fluent in "Schedule-Speak."  It's a new foreign language.
GSA Schedule solicitations are definitely not reader-friendly.  Businesses new to federal contracting almost always find the language in GSA Schedules mystifying, baffling and indecipherable.

5. Prepare the proposal.  Enough said. Where does one start?

6. Have your digital certificate handy.  With the exception of one Schedule, you cannot submit your proposal to GSA without a digital certificate.

7. Sharpen your negotiating skills.  You will need them when you go head-to-head with GSA to negotiate and agree upon your pricing.

Good luck and keep Fedmarket in mind if you falter.  We are standing by to help you complete and submit an expertly prepared GSA Schedue proposal.
