Alliant Small Business: Should I Spend the Money? By Feb 15, 2006,
16:10
The date for the Alliant Small Business seminar has been changed from November 6, 2006 to a future date. The new seminar date will be announced immediately upon GSA’s publication of answers to questions about the RFP.
General Services Administration’s (GSA) Alliant Small Business information technology (IT) procurement is available at Fedbizopps, with a current due date of November 17, 2006. Alliant Small Business is one of the most significant small business procurements in the history of the federal government. GSA is limiting the number of awards and the procurement appears to favor large, small businesses (average annual revenue for the past three fiscal years of $ 15 – 20 million).
Our seminar will help you answer these questions:
This appears to be a phenomenal opportunity for a small IT company, is it too good to be true?
It looks like it may be impossible for us to win an award. Yet how can I pass this one up if we really want to be a prime contractor in the IT market?
Overview:
Vendors offering IT products and services are showing an intense interest in the Alliant (large business) and Alliant Small Business procurements. GSA plans to spend $15 billion dollars through Alliant Small Business over ten years. This large amount, coupled with the Administration’s focus on more dollars for small businesses has created a furor in the industry.
For small businesses the decision to prepare a proposal in response to the Alliant Small Business Request for Proposal (RFP) is difficult. The original draft RFP indicated that GSA was anticipating receipt of hundreds of proposals and planning on making only 40 small business awards. If the 40 award number isn’t increased, only large, small businesses will have a reasonable chance of receiving an award.
Yet everyone wants a piece of this pie and vendors across the county are chomping at the bit to prepare a proposal.
Come to this seminar and learn whether or not you should spend the money.
